London Romans 1 - 1 London Titans - London Unity League

Gutsy is the best way I can describe the reserve team performance of last Sunday. A new look back four comprising of Birch, Connell, Miller and Salter were probably the busier of the two defences during the first half. Not to say that Titans were under the cosh, most of the play took part in the middle of the park and the back four were playing a relatively high line, and as such were seeing a lot of the ball.

London Romans v London Titans - London Unity Football League

The season is getting into full swing now with the Titans first London Unity Football League match this coming Sunday, 28 September, when the Titans are away to London Romans.  The match takes place at the White Hart Lane Community Sports Centre in Wood Green, N22 5QW and kicks off at 2pm.  The nearest tube station is Wood Green on the Piccadilly Line.  The London Unity League allows players who are not GFSN League regulars the chance of playing competitive football against other gay teams, so why not pop along on Sunday to see gay football at it’s purest, whatever may happen you are guaranteed to have fun.

As a result of the game, there will be no training this Sunday.

London Titans 2 Hotscots FC 4 - GFSN National League

It was a hugely disappointing result yesterday for the Titans, two excellent goals by Mikey and Sean gave us some hope late in the game but three dreadful defensive errors ultimately proved too much.  Read the rest of this story »

London Titans v Hotscots FC-Sunday 21 September 1pm

This coming Sunday Titans have their first league match of the 2008-2009 season, in the GFSN National League, against newboys Hotscots FC. The match is at Old Deer Park and kicks off at 1pm.

By anyone’s standard last season was a big disappointment for the Titans, especially after the excellent performances in the 2007 IGLFA World Championships, but losing several key players was a big factor in this. However during the close season Titans have recruited several new players all of an excellent quality. Everyone at Titans is quietly confident for the new season and we think we might surprise a team or two.

Hotscots FC have only been formed for just over a year but are already recognised as a strong side, having beaten the all conquering London Falcons last season to win the FitLads Cup. They will give us a stern test in our opening match and a good game of football is expected. If you’re not doing anything on Sunday then why not pop down to Richmond and watch the match, a programme is available and post match entertainment is being provided by our sponsors West 5. If you can’t get to the match then read the full match report on here next week.
